Crete

Crete was the first place i have seen in Greece. Came here for work 3 years ago for the first time.. To be honest I haven't been amazed in the beginning... By the end of the season I was swearing (and have many witnesses that later were mocking me haha) that I will NEVER EVER come back here :P Maybe that's why wise people are called wise when saying never say never :) I was working as a tour leader with my friend Ernesta and we had hell a  lot of work, so did not really have time to actually explore the place.. Now when I remember these days I think this was one of the best summers in my life just because it was one of these few possibilities to be able to work without having a boss looking over your shoulder all the time and telling you what to do... We were running, but managed quiet well :) that was team work, that I miss now... anyway, lets not get nostalgic:)) so a bit later in the season when we could find some free time, just used to get in the car and drive... to get to know Crete... So we could actually tell to people things that we have seen, not just read from lonely planet tourist guide which is a very good book by the way... More communication with local people has helped as well as they showed us the places that we ourselves maybe have never even consider going to... From quiet few people I have heard that they did not really like Crete... But they have spent all the time in their hotel (which most of the time do not correspond to their star rating) by the pool complaining about everything... Oh how we cannot leave our problems at home... So anyway welcome to Crete, the birthplace of Zeus, home of stubborn, but such welcoming people :D
